Derrick Sun
Managing Director

Education: Derrick received his MBA from the University of Kentucky
Bio: Derrick has over three decades of experience in the banking and consulting sector. He started at Deloitte Consulting where he specialized in the healthcare and consumer sector for 15 years. He also acted as CEO of a biotech pharmaceutical company for nearly five years before joining BNP Paribas Asia as a healthcare analyst. Subsequently, Derrick was the manager of multiple public funds and designated NSSF fund at ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management Company in Hong Kong.
With his seminal report on China’s forthcoming pharmaceutical sector in early 2009, Derrick became a ranked analyst in 2010 and remained a top “picker” in the sector for several years. All funds managed by Derrick during his career as a portfolio manager achieved significant and consistent success, outperforming their benchmarks.
Bringing unrivalled insight and connections into China’s healthcare industry, Derrick Sun joined Pasaca Capital Inc. in January 2021 and is a managing director of Innova Strategies Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pasaca Capital Inc.
Erwin Sanft

Education: Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Graduate Program in Chinese and Economics at Nanjing University, China.
Bio: Erwin has been a Partner of Pasaca Capital since its founding. He has over 25 years’ experience in financial markets. Erwin was head of China research at BNP Paribas, CLSA and Standard Chartered Bank and head of China strategy at Macquarie Bank. He also worked as a senior portfolio manager at E Fund Management, China’s largest mutual fund manager. Erwin managed research teams in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing and authored many groundbreaking reports on China equities over the course of his career. He moved to China in 1992, studying at Nanjing University before working at the New Zealand Consulate-General in Shanghai. Erwin is a CFA charterholder and director of the CFA Society in Hong Kong.

Bio: Early in her career, Michelle managed institutional and high-net-worth individual clients at Haitong International Securities. Michelle also worked for Standard Chartered Bank, BNP, Credit Suisse, and CLSA in various institutional sales roles. Michelle founded an assets management firm and a securities services firm and acted as
CEO, facilitating asset management applications and advising and dealing in securities at the Securities and Futures Commission. Michelle joined Pasaca Capital as a partner in 2017 bringing with her 16 years of experience in the financial industry.
